| Duties and Functions |
• Develop a performance management and measurement process for country operations and oversee its implementation
• Assess, monitor and report on organisational capabilities and weaknesses
• Work closely with country general managers to ensure they are continually developing their organisations
• Together with the country general managers, work to strengthen the country HR functions and enhance the role of the HR functions within the country organisations
• Standardise, and develop, when necessary, HR policies for country operations
• Develop and implement compensation schemes that appropriately reward and retain high performers while helping to control overall labour costs
• Establish and maintain relationships with recruiters in several key markets (e.g., Lebanon, South Africa, India, Philippines, Pakistan, Australia, UK, etc.) in order to build a pipeline of outside talent to bring in to the organisation
• Lead the recruiting process for expat positions
• Oversee the administrative management of expat positions (about 70 in total and growing) and standardise expat policies.
• Advise country operations on union negotiations
• Develop and oversee the implementation of training curricula for country management and staff
• Facilitate the transfer of learnings and best practices between country operations
• Development of, and local adherence to, a robust performance measurement process
• Development of an overall compensation scheme that standardises compensations practices between countries
• Timely recruiting for expat positions
• Retention rates of high performers and other key personnel
• Communicating clearly and effectively
• Understanding the business

| Responsibilities |
The HR manager is responsible for developing and implementing HR policies that help to create and support a performance driven culture in country operations. The HR manager is also responsible for ensuring that the capabilities of country level organisations are appropriately monitored and for making recommendations for improvement when necessary. |
